Overview
2019.10.25, the movie Better Days, which reveals the issue of school bullying, was first shown to the audience in China, drawing massive attention to judicial intervention in school bullying. Bullying can be disastrous to both the bullied and bullies, thus citizens call for stricter regulations against it. However, despite the effort taken by governments, there are still many children living in the shadow of bullying all over the world. Meanwhile, parents’ role in preventing and dealing with bullying has long been ignored by the public.
In an effectively helpful family relationship, understanding, support and education are three vital components, none of which can be achieved without communication and empathy. The device consists of an interactive wall placed in a glass room, a camera, and a printer. To show parents how painful and how severe the consequences of bullying could be, the interactive screen presents marks of being the bullied or bullies on their children’s images. By touching the marks appeared with carefully controlled strength, parents are able to cure their kids. During the healing process, where communication and attention are involved, parents are given the chance to sense the vulnerability and susceptibility of their children, to fight against the potential negative impact coming from the outside, to cooperate with their children under the assistance of good communication, and to receive professional tips on avoiding bullying.
